BEAM
BEAM has seen a busy release cycle with several notable improvements across printing, barcoding, and handling unit functionality. Barcode generation is now fully configurable through BEAM Settings, allowing users to specify barcode type, size, orientation, and color scheme, with updated documentation to match. The CUPS network printer connection has also been improved with the addition of custom network printer settings and refreshed print server documentation. On the bug fix side, a duplicate barcode creation issue on Item save has been resolved.
Handling Unit management received meaningful enhancements as well. Handling Unit creation now respects per-Item configuration defined in BEAM Settings, and BEAM Settings are automatically created whenever a new Company is created. Additional improvements include serial number tracking integration within the Handling Unit workflow, support for printing standard Print Formats on Handling Units, and a fix to a UI bug in the recombine dialog that appeared during Stock Entry cancellation.
Cloud Storage
Cloud Storage received a focused maintenance release (v15.9.2) that cleaned up leftover permissions code. Specifically, orphaned has_permissions overrides that were no longer needed following a permissions refactor have been removed from hooks.py. Supporting updates include refreshed pyproject.toml and pre-commit configurations, removal of the superseded permissions override, and the addition of a changelog generation workflow.
Electronic Payments
Electronic Payments v15.8.3 delivers an important bug fix for users of the Authorize.net payment provider: transactions processed with the "Charge Now" option were being submitted twice, resulting in duplicate charges. This double-charge issue has been resolved, and documentation screenshots and images have been updated to reflect the current settings structure introduced in a recent refactor.
Alongside the bug fix, general housekeeping was performed, including updates to pyproject.toml and pre-commit configuration, and the addition of several workflows covering backporting, code-duplication detection, changelog generation, and override tracking.
Inventory Tools
Inventory Tools v15.10.0 introduces an enhancement to the three-way check feature, which can now detect Items added directly in Purchase Receipts and Purchase Invoices, along with new UI filters to support this capability. This makes the reconciliation process more robust for teams managing purchasing workflows.
Supporting changes in this release include a migration of raw SQL queries in specification.py and faceted_search_query.py to use the Frappe Query Builder, a code-duplication detection workflow, and the usual updates to pyproject.toml and pre-commit configuration.
Test Utils
Test Utils has seen an exceptionally active release period, shipping over a dozen versions with a wide range of new tooling and improvements. Highlights include a new static analysis tool for Frappe apps (v1.20.0) that checks Python code, frontend files, and Jinja templates for undecorated paths and unresolved references, with orphan detection via Vulture and configurable path allowlists. The SQL rewriter tool received multiple rounds of fixes and improvements, including better AST node positioning, support for HAVING clauses and inline math, JSON-based database storage for the SQL registry, and handling of IN/tuple patterns. A new validate_frappe_dependencies pre-commit hook was also added to verify that Frappe and ERPNext dependency version bounds are correctly specified in pyproject.toml.
Further additions include a code-deduplication pre-commit hook and CI action, an allowlist for customizations in validate_customizations, a track_overrides utility module (including app name in override logs), and expanded validation checks in the Frappe project validator. The patch_linters hook was renamed to validate_patches and updated to support execute:-style inline patches in patches.txt. A guard clause was also added to prevent errors when no patches are found during patch validation.
