Approvals
Version 15.0.1 brings a pair of targeted improvements to the Approvals application. A bug fix ensures that Server Scripts are properly enabled before invoices are created during test setup, resolving CI pipeline failures that were caused by scripts running in an inactive state. This change improves the reliability of automated testing across the board.
On the infrastructure side, the test configuration has been updated to use JSON instead of YAML for test fixtures, simplifying how configuration is handled in the test suite and aligning Approvals with the broader tooling standards used across AgriTheory applications.
Autoreader
Version 15.1.0 introduces two meaningful additions to the Autoreader application. A new custom background job queue has been added, allowing Autoreader processing to run in a dedicated queue separate from the default Frappe job queue. This improves throughput and prevents email processing tasks from competing with other background jobs.
Comprehensive demo and test data has also been added, including HTML and PDF Invoice fixtures for Blanket Orders and Purchase Orders, per-supplier contact configuration, and an assignment rule to support automated routing of incoming email processing. These additions make it significantly easier to set up and validate Autoreader in development and staging environments.
BEAM
BEAM has seen a busy release cycle, with updates shipping across both version 14 and version 15. On the version 15 side, highlights include updated printing dependencies with corrected serialization for printing settings, a configurable barcode font size setting in BEAM Settings, and the successful port of Handling Unit tests from version 14 — covering null value handling in the Handling Unit list, Stock Entry cancellation dialog improvements, subcontracting process tracking, and mandatory Handling Unit validation. CI improvements include a refactored environment variable setup and an updated conftest now using JSON format. A typo fix in the hooked List View was also shipped in the most recent patch release (v15.1.2).
On the version 14 side, version 14.8.6 delivered a replacement of raw frappe.db.sql calls with the safer frappe.get_all API, alongside fixes for net quantity and Handling Unit tests. Mandatory Handling Unit validation was also improved, providing clearer and more reliable enforcement of Handling Unit requirements during document submission workflows.
Test Utils
Test Utils has had an active release period, shipping eight versions in quick succession focused on expanding the fixture builder library and improving developer tooling. New fixture builders have been added for Employees (with company assignment from settings), Companies (reading from a company.json configuration file), Bills of Materials, Customers and Customer Groups, and Suppliers and Supplier Groups (with address creation support). These additions make it easier to build consistent, repeatable test environments across AgriTheory applications.
On the tooling side, several pre-commit hook improvements were shipped: validate_customizations, clean_customized_doctypes, and validate_javascript_dependencies have all been updated to function as pre-commit hooks with configurable rules. Additional improvements include a progress bar for load_customizations, the addition of flynt (an f-string formatter) to pre-commit configuration, and commit message spell checking configured to ignore false positives. CI workflows for building, pre-commit, and release were also updated during this cycle.
